The first page

Every exercise book starts with a blank first page. This is mine.

I set this site up as a place to practise: to write down what I learn, to keep the things I build in one place, and to get better at making software together with an AI.

What it is made of

• Astro turns Markdown files and a few components into plain HTML pages.
• TypeScript keeps the two languages in step. Every piece of interface text has to exist in both English and Chinese, otherwise the type check fails before the site is built.
• The Chinese pages borrow the square grid of Chinese manuscript paper, and the English pages the four ruled lines of an English handwriting book.

Adding a note

A note is one Markdown file per language, with the same file name in each folder:

src/content/notes/en/first-page.md
src/content/notes/zh/first-page.md

Each file starts with a few lines of front matter:
